I want you to meet the ultimate rebel. He is the Rebel that puts all other rebels to shame. This man is the Rebel of all rebels. Famous rebels or revolutionists see something they feel is wrong and they use all their time, energy and resources to change it. Successful ones make a difference. Let me introduce you to Jesus Christ, who I am defining as the most Rebellious Person who ever lived or who ever will live for that matter.
He didn’t just take on a corrupt government or some gross injustice. He wasn’t looking to make a little social reform so the world could be a better place. No, He came from Heaven, entered a messed up, sinful world and took on everything! He did take on all the injustices and other rotten things, but what He ultimately did was take on the root of all problems. That root is SIN!!! He single-handedly took on the entire “kingdom of darkness”. There is a price that must be paid for sin. He was the only one willing and qualified to pay that price. That price was His life. He gave it up in order to give us a way out of our daily and ultimate destruction. He defeated the Devil. He defeated Death. And He defeated Sin. Jesus rebelled against it all. He used His time, energy and amazing resources to gain victory in every single area. There is nothing that He does not have authority over. He has defeated, yes, even destroyed all the works of the Devil.
Amazingly, He did not win so that He would be famous or powerful. (He was already and always will be God.) Rather, He did it all for us. He did it so we could join Him in His victory. His victory can now become our victory. We must admit that on our own we are going nowhere except straight to Hell. We must confess that it is only through Jesus Christ and who He is and what He has done that we can gain any victory. We can turn our lives over to Him – His great rule and His gentle hand. Then He gives us victory in this life and in the eternal life to come.
If you join Him, you will be a rebel like Jesus. You can join in His victory over the kingdom of Satan. You can see your life and the lives of your friends experience His amazing freedom. You can become a Righteous Rebel and Join His Revolution.
