This is an outline of what Pastor Rick Rohlin spoke to a group of 250 teenagers at the All-Night in Narnia event on 12-9-05 in Russell, PA

In Michael L. Brown’s book, Revolution – The Call to Holy War   (Chapter 13) , he lists characteristics of historical revolutions over the years.  He compiles them into five basic elements that must be present to have a successful revolution.  If we are to be serious about overthrowing the Devil and all his horrid plans of bondage for our lives, we must be serious about these five things. We as Revolutionists MUST:

A.                 We must have a clear Goal/Vision

a.      The Problem -  Our friends and relatives are living a life of bondage.  They are trapped in the lies that the enemy has perpetuated for years.  This includes, but is not limited to the following:  depression, suicide, addictions, drug/alcohol abuse, eating disorders, cutting, sexual promiscuity, low self- esteem, lack of self-worth, abuse from parents and other adults, performance based value, etc.

b.      Must have an enemy to fight.  He is clearly the Devil.  Our enemy is not people.  Our enemy is clearly Satan himself who desires the worst for us.  By definition he can only steal, kill and destroy.  (John 10:10)  And that is his plan for our lives.  We must hate everything about him as he stands against everything that Jesus stands for.

c.       Goal – The saying goes that if you have no goal, you are sure to hit it.  Unfortunately, that is the way many Christians live their lives – with no vision or purpose.   We have quite an opportunity as Christians.  We have high and very lofty goals.  Ultimately, our goal is to see the glory of God come on our earth – that the earth may be filled with the knowledge of the glory of God. (Habakkuk 2:14)  Specifically, our goal in Warren County and also parts of both McKean, and Chautauqua county is to have every person hear the good news of Jesus Christ and His life changing message before they reach the age of 20.

d.     Our goal is that we come face to face with a Holy God and our lives will, therefore, forever be changed.  And as a result the other part of that goal is for His Glory to spread to our entire region and then on to the world.

B.                 We must have Bases

a.       We need safe places to meet.  What we mean by this is a place of refuge from the battle.  We must have places to go where we can be encouraged, where we can rest, and where we can get ready to go back out.  These are our local churches, our youth groups, Bible studies, etc.  These are absolutely necessary places for a revolutionist.  If you think it is not worth your while to be involved in some sort of “base”, you can be sure that you will not be a successful revolutionist.  You must get involved in these “bases” of God’s Word.  They must become a priority in your life.b.      Training – Every warrior needs the proper training, and it is at these “bases” that we receive this critical training. We receive it in the following 4 areas.

                                                               i.      The Word – No other way to say it.  A revolutionist for the gospel of Jesus Christ MUST know GOD’S
WORD, the Bible.

ii.      Prayer – We have direct access 24/7 to the ultimate Commander in Chief – prayer is that weapon

.                                                            iii.      Worship – Jesus is such a great an awesome God, and we are but dust without His grace.  Our worship
and adoration of Him constantly keep a proper perspective on our roles and also, worship is indeed the very reason that we were created.

iv.      Ministry – Jesus wants to make us into warriors, and He is ready to unleash us to a dying world.  It is in these “bases” that we get trained so that we can get out there and share the Good News of God’s great love for
  all!!!!!!

b.       Build each other up – Being in a battle is difficult, and we desperately need others to gather with to encourage us to keep pressing on.  The easiest thing is to give up and quit.  Without the help of others, we will do just that.  We must spend time together on the “base”.

C.                 We must Propagate the Message

a.      We must get the message out
This may sound obvious, but we must get the message of Jesus out to all who will listen.  Every revolution must let others know what each side stands for so they can make a decision about which side they will join.

b.      By every means possible We must use every means available to get our message out

  i.      Our Life – Our best means of communication is how we live our life – Live for Jesus always

ii.      Voice  -  Speak the truth of Christ

iii.      Written  -  Write material and give away other great material.

iv.      Radio, TV, CD’s etc. – let’s not allow the enemy own these avenues

v.      Internet  -  Use this web site and others to let people hear about how much Jesus loves them and  how much the
devil hates them

D.                We must be filled with the Power and Knowledge of God

a.      Can’t be fought through our human strength

2 Corinthians 10:4  “For the weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world.  On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.”   This battle for people’s souls cannot be fought with our own muscle or brains.

b.      We need the Word and the Spirit

There is no other way to state this.  A revolutionist for Jesus must be passionate about knowing His Word, The Bible.  If you are not interested in the Bible, then you are not interested in seeing Jesus begin a Revolution.  You have to read and study this precious Word.  Also, we must rely on the Power of the Holy Spirit.  Pray and ask God to empower you supernaturally.  Ask Him to do things way beyond your natural ability.  He is indeed faithful.

c.       We need intimacy with God

Just as we must be in the Word of God, so must we also spend time with Jesus in prayer.  We have access through prayer to spend personal time with our commanding General.  We must view this as an amazing privilege and as essential.

E.                 We must go on the Attack

Joe Lewis, one of the greatest fighters ever, had a simple strategy for victory.  First, he knew hisenemy. Second, he was never surprised.  And third, he was always on the offensive.  I believe we need to use this strategy with the Devil.  We must attack him.  If we don’t, we can be sure he will never voluntarily back down.

a.      Refuse to quit until we see Jesus face to face
Regardless of how we feel or what we see happening, we must determine to never give up.  We are assured of a victory.

b.      Never Retreat
Battles are not won by those on the retreat.  Winston Churchill in one of his more memorable speeches stated that the key to life was quite simple.  He said, “Never, never, never Give UP.  Never, never, neverGive UP!!!!!!”
I ask you to have that same determination.  We live in a world where people quit for any reason at all.  The one who continues to work steadfastly will win.

c.       We have the enemy totally outmanned and outgunned
It may seem like the Devil has everything going for him.  He may seem to have all the popular people, all the best music, access to all the media, seemingly unlimited money, the politicians, the judges, etc.  But let me say that we are on the side of the King of all kings, Creator of the universe, the All-Powerful God of all.  You get the point.  Don’t let what appears to be happening destroy your faith in what will certainly happen.  One person on God’s side is a majority.  As the Word says, “if God be for us, who can be against us?”  (Romans 8:31)
